Civil Site Development Designer

Overview

VDDS Associate Engineering Technician, under general supervision, performs basic functions requiring technical knowledge and use of electronic applications, standards, and document control processes / procedures in support of creating or modifying deliverables. This role will be responsible for the development site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and / or Bentley MicroStation. This role will be within the Energy and Process Industries (E&PI) group, supporting client needs related to Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Basic Civil 3D experience is required with use of proposed grading surfaces and plan development.

Type : Contract

Compensation : $30-37 / hr

Contractor Work Model : Onsite

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D. Working knowledge of Bentley MicroStation is also preferable.
• Collaborate with team members to produce site plans, detailed engineering drawings, profiles, construction drawings, and details.
• Convert field survey data into topographic survey drawings and surfaces suitable for producing site plans and construction drawings.
• Apply intermediate knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and policies and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry knowledge and technology trends.
• Ensure deliverables comply with the company quality program.
• Interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
• Understand basic construction and constructability practices and principles.
• Apply basic engineering design principles and applicable design guides related to the assigned engineering discipline.

Qualifications

Education

Diploma or Certificate preferred; Associate degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience. Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including criminal / civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
