Job Title : Accounts Payable Supervisor

Department : Accounting

SUMMARY : As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will lead a team of accounts payable specialists and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve payment batches, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment terms.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including communication, issue resolution, and negotiation of payment terms.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor aging of accounts payable and take appropriate action to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and maintain accounts payable policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, and operations, to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and metrics, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities
