Position Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow their career in accounting within the fast-paced distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • General Ledger Management : Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Accounts Payable / Receivable : Process vendor invoices and payments, ensure timely billing and collections, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Inventory Accounting : Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and assist in periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Financial Reporting : Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other analyses as required.
  • Tax Compliance : Assist in the preparation of sales tax filings and other regulatory reports.
  • Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement best practices.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in wholesale, distribution, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • CPA or progress toward certification.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with state tax regulations and reporting requirements.
