Emergency Room RN Job Details

Location : Henrico, VA 23229 (Richmond metropolitan area)

Healthcare Setting : Emergency Department (ED), 25 beds

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : October 20, 2025

End Date : January 19, 2026

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (09 : 00-21 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : Every other weekend required

Dress Code : Navy Blue Scrubs

EMR System : MediTech Expanse

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1680 - $1800

ER RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required

ENPC and CPI certifications preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency with GE monitors, Baxter pumps, and Zoll travel monitors

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ED environment

Manage a patient assignment of 4 : 1, with potential to increase to 5 : 1 during peak times

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including unit secretaries and patient care techs

Perform ED-specific procedures and demonstrate advanced clinical competencies

Accurately document patient care in MediTech Expanse EMR

Adhere to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and patient experience standards
