Utilities Warehouse And Logistics Manager (Inventory & Facilities Manager)
The City of Anaheim Public Utilities (APU) is seeking a forward-thinking Utilities Warehouse and Logistics Manager (Inventory & Facilities Manager) to lead procurement activities for Orange County's only municipal utility providing both electricity and water services. This hands-on leadership role combines strategic decision-making with active involvement in securing critical utility resources while guiding procurement and warehouse staff who support operational and capital equipment needs. The successful candidate will bring strategic insight, strong communication skills, and the ability to analyze data and market dynamics to drive efficiency and keep APU resilient and well-positioned to meet the needs of customers well into the future.
The Utilities Warehouse and Logistics Manager will provide vision and direction while overseeing procurement staff and a warehouse team responsible for managing inventory, receiving, issuing, and staging equipment, and supporting field crews during callouts and other events. This position will work closely with key suppliers to strengthen procurement processes, improve inventory forecasting, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. Collaboration with engineers, field and project managers, and senior management will be essential to anticipate and plan for long-lead items that are critical to the success of high-profile capital projects. The Utilities Inventory & Facilities Manager will be actively working with various internal and external stakeholders, reviewing procurement and warehouse processes, analyzing data and business intelligence, evaluating market dynamics including material availability and pricing, making informed decisions that drive performance outcomes, and presenting actionable insights and metrics to senior and executive management.
The ideal candidate should possess demonstrated leadership capabilities with strong knowledge and experience in warehouse management which may include strategic sourcing, SKU portfolio management and forecasting, contract negotiations, and / or logistics. A bachelor's degree, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient formal writing skills, and strong interpersonal communications skills are highly desired.
