Manager, Benefits Finance

RTX Corporate is looking for a dynamic Manager, Benefits Finance. In this role you will be reporting to the Associate Director, Benefits Finance. As the Manager, Benefits Finance, you will play a critical role in the Benefits Finance department within the RTX Controllership organization. This position will be working hybrid / in-person / remote based in or near Farmington, CT. The Benefits Finance department oversees the financial accounting, reporting, funding, and forecasting aspects of the Company's benefits offerings, including active and post-retirement medical, dental, life insurance, disability, and pension benefit programs. The department partners with a wide variety of internal partners across Finance, Human Resources and Legal at Corporate and the business units globally.

What You Will Do :

  • Developing financial forecasts and analysis of Company benefit costs related to fringe benefit programs, including pension.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Company's and the benefit plans' financial statement disclosures, annual filings, and submissions to the U.S. government.
  • Participating in ad hoc special projects, as needed, including but not limited to plan design analysis, process improvement initiatives, and mergers / acquisitions due diligence.
  • Working with a variety of third-party benefits vendors and internal contacts to ensure the payment of, and accounting for, benefit claims, expenses, and other financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Participating in audit support activities, which may include leading calls with auditors, preparing written responses to audit inquiries, reviewing vendor SOC1 reports, and testing applicable controls, among other items.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
  • Solid experience and knowledge of financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to independently manage critical projects under demanding schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to handle competing priorities with attention to detail.
  • Solid written and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Ability to help identify and execute process improvements.
  • Experience with general accounting and / or actuarial concepts, including but not limited to fringe benefit programs.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, ERISA and CAS regulations with respect to pensions and other benefits.
  • Proficiency with tools such as SAP, OneStream, Power Query, Power BI and Alteryx.

  • The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
