Overview

We're looking for an Air Quality Consultant / Air permit to lead Air Permitting and compliance projects for clients in the power, industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and transportation sectors. This is a high-impact role with a wide variety of project work with Environmental permitting, and strong potential for advancement within our growing Environmental Services team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare air permit application packages and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections to ensure air quality compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Estimate emissions (including GHGs and emissions during maintenance / start-up / shutdown)
  • Manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and client communication.
  • Putting together complex permitting applications for a wide variety of projects
  • Support development of multi-media environmental plans, including :
  • Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans
  • EPCRA filings
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Support other environmental compliance work as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in air permitting / compliance (10+ years preferred).
  • Prior consulting experience in environmental permitting and compliance
  • Solid understanding of the Clean Air Act, including :
  • New Source Review (NSR) / Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD)
  • National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP)
  • New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
  • Title V and VI permitting
  • Familiarity with air dispersion modeling tools (AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience or interest in sustainability initiatives is a bonus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
