A company is looking for a Lead Inpatient Coder.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as an expert resource for ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG assignment, addressing complex coding questions

Provide ongoing education and training to the coding team, minimizing errors and ensuring compliance

Develop and maintain internal logs of coding questions and rebuttals, and report on coding trends and improvements

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred

AHIMA certification or RHIA / RHIT / CCS preferred upon hire

Minimum of 4 years of experience in acute care inpatient coding required

Demonstrated accuracy in coding and DRG assignment while meeting productivity requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Epic EMR, and coding software required
