Job Summary :

The Automation Systems Technician will support and maintain automation systems within Client's Concord Optical Fiber warehouse area. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of robotic and automated systems responsible for order fulfillment. Following an initial day-shift training period (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM), the position transitions to a 12-hour rotating day / night shift schedule aligned with Corning’s production operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation systems, including mini load AS / RS cranes, Fanuc robots, roller conveyors, and other automated devices.
  • Use PLC code to diagnose and resolve complex production and automation issues.
  • Operate a Fanuc Teach Pendant to troubleshoot robotic automation cells.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of equipment issues.
  • Partner with engineering teams for advanced troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform thorough preventative maintenance on all automation systems and components.

Required Skills :

  • Hands-on experience with Fanuc robots and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to interpret and navigate PLC code.
  • Proficiency in working with AC / DC and servo motors, pneumatic systems, sensors, valves, and related automation equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a commitment to safety around automated machinery.
  • Competence with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

    • Education :

    Associate’s degree (A.A.S.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology required.

    In lieu of degree : 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial automation systems and robotics.
