Qualifications and Licensing
- Hold a current and valid license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas (new graduates are welcome to apply).
- Maintain board certification appropriate to the area of practice.
- Possess a valid DEA license for prescribing medications, if applicable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Ability to work extended hours and respond to patient needs during off-hours if required.
- Ability to travel to Southlake.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Care :
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician.Provide preventive care and health education tailored to the patient’s needs.Collaborate with physician and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.Facilitate referrals to specialists or ancillary services when needed.Documentation and Compliance :
Accurately document patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR).Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, hospital policies, and medical standards.Participate in quality assurance activities, such as chart reviews and peer evaluations.Medication Management :
Prescribe medications based on patient needs and in accordance with state laws and protocols.Monitor patients for efficacy and adverse reactions to prescribed treatments.Patient Advocacy and Education :
Educate patients on chronic disease management, healthy lifestyle choices, and medication adherence.Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely care.Professional Development :
Stay updated on advancements in medical science, treatments, and technologies relevant to the role.Participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications.Key Skills :
