Description : POSITION SUMMARY :

The Caseworker Aide supports the Social Services Department by providing essential case management support. Responsibilities include delivering home-based intervention services and prevention activities, along with proficiency in outreach, referrals, networking, and recordkeeping. Prioritizing organizational efficiency and confidentiality, tasks encompass appointment scheduling, file management, and compiling client histories. Collaborating with various agencies, the aide assists in planning preventive initiatives and ensures clients access necessary resources and support services.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist caseworkers in conducting intake interviews with clients to assess needs and develop action plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate client appointments and follow-up meetings, ensuring timely communication and scheduling.
  • Provide administrative support, including drafting correspondence, completing forms, and organizing documentation.
  • Conduct research to identify community resources and support services available to clients.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and address complex cases.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing emergencies or challenging situations.
  • Assist with outreach and educational activities to raise awareness of available social services and resources.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes and effectiveness, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with community partners and agencies to coordinate services and referrals for clients.
  • Support caseworkers in conducting home visits and assessing living conditions and family dynamics.
  • Maintain professional development by attending training sessions and staying informed about best practices in social services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES :

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and empathize with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to work effectively within Native American communities.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in case management software and Microsoft Office suite for accurate recordkeeping and data entry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to assess client needs, identify resources, and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies to provide comprehensive support and referrals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and respond to urgent situations with composure and efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing ideas and supporting colleagues in achieving shared goals.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development to enhance skills and stay current with industry best practices.

    • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a social services or human services setting, preferably in a casework or case management role.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and policies governing social services, such as child welfare laws and confidentiality requirements.

    • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Ability to travel to various locations within the community to conduct home visits and attend meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Stamina to maintain focus and productivity during long periods of sitting, standing, or performing administrative tasks.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment, such as files or outreach materials, up to 30 pounds.
  • Agility to navigate various environments, including stairs, uneven terrain, and potentially cramped or cluttered spaces in clients' homes.
  • Capacity to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in potentially noisy or crowded environments during outreach activities or client interactions.

    • CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

  • Successful completion of applicable tribal drug test.
  • Successful completion of applicable tribal background check.
  • Must pass background investigation for suitability of character identified in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations.
