Saw Mill Club Storm Aquatics is a competitive USA Swimming Team located in Mount Kisco, NY. The team has 120+ active members, ranging from Novice to Junior National level swimmers. The Philosophy of the team is Athlete-centered, Coach-directed, and Parent-supported.
The Position
We are looking to hire a part-time Assistant Swim Coach. Available hours per week can range based on availability, but will require a minimum of 1 weekend day.
General Job Duties
Coaching Duties
- Lead Age Group and Masters Coach
- Designs and implements season plan for teaching and training
- Designs and implements daily practices for assigned groups
- Attends and engages in all scheduled practices
- Evaluates seasonal and daily practices
- Assists with recruitment and retention of athletes
- Assistant coach for other groups as assigned by Head Coach
- Implements training and teaching progressions developed by Head Coach and staff
- Motivates and participates in goal setting to help athletes reach potential
- Recommends individual and relay events for all meets for athletes
- Schedules, attends and engages in meets as assigned by Head Coach
- Participates in Parent Education with Head Coach
- Maintain daily attendance records for training groups
Administrative Duties
Works with Head Coach to execute the vision, mission, and objectives of the teamCommunicates regularly with the Head CoachCollaborates and Cooperates with Board membersCommunicates with membership via phone, email, text and team websiteAttends bi-annual Metropolitan Swimming meetingsAssists with fundraising activities as neededResponds promptly to all swimmer / parent / coach communicationOther duties as assigned by Head Coach as neededPreferred qualifications include :
Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming, which includes LGT & CPRA college degree (preferred, but not required)Coaching experience that illustrates the following traits : organized, good communicator, energetic, team player, takes initiativePrior coaching experience working with a USA Swimming Team and Age Group athletes for 3 years
