Support Specialist provides general assistance to the Behavioral Health & Treatment Services Unit for the ten-county service area; with specific responsibilities in the areas of receptionist duties, secretarial functions, data entry, and persons served billing activities. The position requires the processing and maintenance of confidential information for persons served, third-party payees, and referral sources. This is for a full time position and will be 40 hours a week.

JOB TITLE : Support Specialist UNIT : Behavioral Health and Treatment Services
REPORTS TO : Clinical Supervisor FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
with specific responsibilities in the areas of receptionist duties, secretarial functions, data entry and persons served billing activities.
The position requires the processing and maintenance of confidential information for persons served, thirdparty payees, and referral
sources.
DUTIES : (Essential Functions)
Performs multiple related duties requiring moderate skills
Develop financial contracts with persons served
Assist the enrollment of persons served in appropriate health care plans
Preparing / processing of purchase orders
Preparing monthly federal and other billing as directed
Maintain federal persons served files
Arrange new hire orientation and collect appropriate information
Assist with person served billing questions
Maintain Unit financial binder on a regular basis
Assemble and maintain person served file records
Assist persons served with the completion of required documentation
Prepare receipts and / or daily deposits
Type all correspondence and persons served file information for agency staff as requested
Provide clerical support to unit staff as needed
Provide backup support for other support staff as needed
INDEPENDENT ACTION :
Receives periodic supervision regarding task guidelines and completion. .
DECISIONMAKING AUTHORITY
Limited independent decisionmaking authority.
ADDITIONAL TRAINING :
Obtain specific training required by agency or program guidelines
This position is considered mandatory reporter of child abuse and required to hold a valid training certification
PROGRAM REPRESENTATION :
Requires varying levels of interaction with staff, customers and other agencies in a role where they represent a single
program.
PROGRAM DESIGN AND PLANNING :
Involved in the planning of a limited area within a program reflective of his / her job responsibilities.

Position requires a High School Diploma.
EXPERIENCE :
Requires a minimum of one year business office experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY :
Requires moderate level computer knowledge and experience, has the ability to use existing program software applications
with minimal training and can perform simple maintenance to keep computers operational.
