Job Summary and Qualifications
Performs the primary function of a professional leader in assessing, planning, organizing, directing and evaluating program activities on a 24-hour basis, in accordance with facility policies, philosophy, objectives and standards. The position is responsible for managing patients with stroke and transient ischemic attacks, stroke interventions and procedures, sepsis and cardiovascular procedures. The Coordinator is responsible to ensure quality in all areas of education, patient care, patient management and performance improvement activities. The coordinator functions as a resource, and role model, patient advocate and provides up-to-date information for staff, patients and families to enhance quality patient care. Assures needed supplies and equipment available for nursing staff by working with the Nursing Managers and Nursing Directors. Promotes teamwork with physicians, staff, and patients and promotes excellence in care through education and mentoring. Maintains a well-equipped working environment and provides continuing growth opportunities that allow for the achievement of maximum productivity and satisfaction. Leads and coaches the development and growth of a safety culture in the hospital.
