Position Overview
Metro Laundry Service is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Laundry Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial laundry equipment, as well as overseeing building and grounds maintenance.
The Engineer is responsible for the daily repair and preventative maintenance of industrial textile processing equipment and facility maintenance. The Engineer ensures that tasks such as start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems are completed according to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintains all operating equipment in satisfactory condition.
- Manages spare parts inventories in a cost effective manner.
- Minimizes unscheduled equipment downtime.
- Installs, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on industrial processing equipment, water levels, water systems and other equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoots electrical issues.
- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
- Ensures work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Supervise the handling of daily maintenance requests to minimize equipment down-time and continually improve operational processes.
- Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.
- Proficient in reading electrical schematics.
- Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications.Strong electrical troubleshootingExperience maintaining and repairing boilers, pumps, conveyors, and other large-scale industrial systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.Skilled in welding, cutting, plumbing, and general building / facility repairs.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.Basic computer skills for record-keeping, maintenance logs, and parts ordering.Ability to manage spare parts inventory and work within budget guidelines.Strong commitment to safety practices and compliance with OSHA standards.Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand / walk for long periods, and work in hot or noisy environments.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed.Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work professionally with all levels of staff.Boiler operators license or other relevant certifications (preferred but not required).Physical & Environmental Considerations :
Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, driving a forklift, grasping, moving equipment, pushing, pulling, moving loaded carts weighing up to 500 lbs, reading, speaking, hearing, and lifting up to 60 lbs.Inside and outside areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, noise, odors, humidity, lint and dust, in general offices or on outside grounds.Benefits :
