Wonderspring is seeking an energetic Youth Development Specialist to join our aftercare program beginning January 2026 !
You’ll lead fun, hands-on activities that promote academic success, teamwork, creativity, and leadership for students in grades K–5 , while also assisting with programs for middle and high school youth ( grades 6–8 and 9–12 ).
Working under the direction of the Site Director and in collaboration with the STEAM Educator, you’ll help create an engaging, supportive environment where every child can explore new ideas, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills.

What You’ll Get to Do (and Have Fun Doing!) Lead daily aftercare programming that promotes academic achievement, teamwork, creativity, and social-emotional growth for school-age children.
Facilitate the daily “Power Hour” homework help block by providing small-group and one-on-one academic support in a structured, encouraging environment.
Collaborate with the STEAM Educator to deliver engaging, hands-on enrichment activities that reinforce learning through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
Support rotating Interest Clubs that align with seasonal themes and student interests.
Encourage student goal setting, reflection, and growth throughout the program year.
Maintain active supervision and ensure a safe, inclusive environment that reflects Wonderspring’s mission to inspire growth and learning in every child.
Your Special Skills & Qualities High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
At least two years of experience working with school-age youth in an educational, recreational, or youth development setting.
Strong understanding of youth development principles and positive behavior guidance.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for helping children learn through play and exploration.
Must meet all DHS requirements, including current clearances (PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR) and a Health Assessment with TB test.
