RN Supervisor (3-11 Shift) (West Orange)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality patient care within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. • Duties
• Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct patient assessments and oversee care plans for individuals with varying needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Manage staffing schedules and coordinate training for nursing personnel.
• Monitor patient care quality and implement improvements as necessary.
• Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in utilization review and discharge planning processes.
• Provide mentorship and support for nursing staff development.
• Requirements
• Valid nursing license with supervisory experience preferred.
• Critical care experience or experience in acute care settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
• Experience in long-term care environments is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in behavioral health settings is a plus.
• Proficiency in patient assessment techniques including vital signs monitoring, IV insertion, medication administration, and catheter care.
• Ability to manage diverse teams effectively while promoting a positive work environment.
• Experience in case management or utilization management is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications may be beneficial (e.g., ACLS).
