Job Summary :
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, delivering high-quality phlebotomy and customer service to patients across various locations. The PSR II is responsible for collecting accurate and safe blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory analysis, and maintaining strict adherence to procedural and confidentiality standards. This position supports multiple sites and requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage high volumes while providing a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collects blood specimens (venipuncture and capillary) from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Verifies patient identification and demographic information pre- and post-collection.
- Prepares and processes specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Provides clear explanations of collection procedures to patients, ensuring trust and comfort.
- Accurately documents patient data, collection times, and other required information.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all assigned sites.
- Travels between multiple patient service centers or in-office phlebotomy locations as needed (mileage reimbursed between sites, not from home).
- Adheres strictly to safety, HIPAA, infection control, and compliance standards.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and team members.
- Participates in training, follows company policies, and demonstrates organizational values.
Required Qualifications :
Education :High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA )Experience :1-3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (Required)
2 years in a Patient Service Center or similar environment (Preferred)Customer service experience in retail / service setting (Strongly Preferred)Proven experience in data entry and basic computer skillsOther Requirements :Reliable personal transportation (rideshare not acceptable)
