job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in a 12-bed Cardiovascular ICU within an acute care hospital Patient population includes AMI, CAD, PVD, and fresh open-heart surgery from the OR Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 based on acuity Night shifts are 12 hours in length with a requirement of two weekend shifts per pay period Required to float to ICU, PCU, MS, and Tele units at both campuses as needed Use of Cerner EMR system for documentation Unit utilizes advanced equipment including IABP, CRRT, Impella (preferred), Vents, Bipap, Cpap, Vapotherm, HiFlow Drip titration required for medications such as Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levophed, Insulin, Cardene RNs are responsible for interpreting their own telemetry strips Holiday and on-call coverage is required according to contract terms Primary responsibilities include caring for critically ill cardiovascular patients and titrating advanced vasoactive medications Must complete unit-specific orientation and pass a sterile technique skills assessment on day one Navy blue scrubs required for this position First to float status applies to travelers Intensivist support is available 24 / 7 No nurse aides on unit, RNs must manage all aspects of patient care RT available 24 / 7, but support is shared across ICU units Candidates failing required skills or dysrhythmia tests twice are ineligible for future contracts with CommonSpirit in AZ and Sacramento for 6 months Active, unencumbered RN license (State or Compact) at time of application; pending licenses not accepted Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU nursing experience required Proven skills with IABP, CRRT, fresh open-heart surgery patients, and titrating critical care drips required Ability to pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts required for contract confirmation Experience using Cerner EMR preferred Must provide driver’s license for address verification (candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility) Candidates may not have been directly employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year Two professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
