Job Title : Pulmonologist PRN (Veterans Exams & IMOs)
Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pulmonologist (MD / DO) to provide PRN support for Veterans disability evaluations and Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs) . This role is primarily remote , with occasional travel required for in-person exams. The breakdown of remote versus travel work will vary depending on caseload and assignment needs.
This opportunity is ideal for a subspecialist who wants to use their expertise to serve Veterans and provide trusted, specialty-specific evaluations.
Key Details
Work Type : PRN, flexible scheduling
Location : Primarily remote with occasional travel - travel would be nationwide
Compensation :
1 / 2 day rate for completion of 1 IMO
Full day rate for completion of 2 IMOs
Full day rate for in-person exams
Travel days compensated at 1 / 2 day rate (front and back)
All travel expenses covered
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and create accurate, detailed IMOs for pulmonary-related conditions.
Provide expert-level medical opinions in cases where Veterans have already undergone initial evaluation processes.
Perform occasional in-person pulmonary examinations as required (travel supported).
Ensure documentation is clear, evidence-based, and submitted in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency, accuracy, and Veteran-centered care.
Qualifications
MD or DO, Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Pulmonology required
Active, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain findings clearly.
