Primary Responsibility
Full-time faculty positions begin in July 2026 with a 30-credit hour (170 day) contract per Board Policy 4.12. The successful candidate will teach communications courses, including Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Group Communication. This position supports general education requirements within Associate’s and Bachelor’s programs and concurrent enrollment for local high school students. Teaching modalities include online, virtual classroom, in-person, and hybrid formats.
Teaching responsibilities for all faculty include teaching the assigned course load, evaluating courses and assessing student learning, meeting established course, program, and learning outcomes, complying with guidelines and policies, maintaining office hours per standards, developing rapport with students, and participating in advising, orientation, and registration activities.
CMC Faculty are also expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, relevant projects, mentoring peers, participating in assessment activities, program review, student organization involvement, and recruitment and retention efforts.
Qualifications and Required Standards
Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include :
Master’s Degree in Communication, or a Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Communications.
At least one year of full-time teaching experience or the equivalent (30 credit hours) as an adjunct faculty member. Higher education teaching experience is preferred.
Experience delivering instruction in multiple modalities (in person, hybrid, synchronous online, asynchronous online). Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and collegiality are essential.
We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds. Bilingual (English / Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.

Salary and Benefits
Salary range : $79,902.51 – $97,321.19 annually, depending on education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual and sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, and possibly affordable transitional housing based on eligibility and availability. Relocation may be considered. CMC uses a wage progression model; salary is set commensurate with qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following responsibilities align with evaluation and promotion procedures and ensure consistency in role expectations :
Participate in orientation and registration activities.
Additional scholarly, creative, and service activities include ongoing professional development, curriculum development, program assessment, and participation in campus and college committees.
All faculty acknowledge that final payment of any contract may be withheld until submission of grades is complete.
Working Conditions and Special Considerations
May require travel and evening / weekend hours.
Based on job duties, occasional physical requirements may apply (e.g., lifting up to 50 lbs).
