JROTC Instructor
REPORTS TO : PRINCIPAL / CHIEF OF NAVAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING
BASIC FUNCTION / PURPOSE : To serve as the primary leadership in the overall operations of the JROTC Naval Program in the system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluates programs and / or projects for the purpose of carrying out and achieving objectives within the area of responsibility.
- Lead the program establishment and recruitment of new cadets.
- Supports the implementation of district and state initiatives.
- Actively lead in the delivery of the curriculum areas within the NJROTC program including but not limited to the following activities. Drone, Robotics, Drill, Marksmanship, Academics, Color Guard, JLAB, Physical Fitness, Orienteering, and Community Service.
- Fully participate in the Cadet Summer Leadership Academy, Basic Leadership Training, and STEM Academy.
- Participates in the development of the district's strategic plan and Cognia report for district accreditation.
- Responds to concerns and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Plans and implements a program to monitor program expectations .
- Monitor and track student attendance records.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote the overall district mission and vision .
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Certification by the NJROTC Program REQUIREDA minimum of at least eight (8) years of service in the Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard REQUIREDPrevious SNSI / NSI experience PREFERREDFamiliarity with CDMIS and WAWF PREFERREDPHYSICAL DEMANDS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands :
Regular walking, standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, occasionally lifting items above fifty pounds.Requires the ability to work long hours and withstand moderate amounts of stress in order to maintain a healthy physical and mental state of well-being.Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.SALARY AND BENEFITS : State and Local Salary Schedule
