A consumer products company in New Jersey is actively seeking a new Purchasing Specialist to join its growing team. In this role, the Purchasing Associate will work with the Purchasing department on a variety of procurement and administrative tasks, such as replenishment order placement and follow-up of all active orders.

Responsibilities :
Assist with purchase order management, including coordinating purchasing recognitions, placing purchase orders, following up on tracking orders, invoices, and vendor confirmations
Coordinate internal purchasing requests; obtain details and specifications of the items under consideration for purchase
Place replenishment orders and order routing as assigned.
Maintaining accurate correspondence and records of vendor communications, including current vendor information regarding cost, availability, reorders, and general product information
Arrange shipments for both domestic and international orders that require special handling
Handle ad hoc duties, as needed
Qualifications :
6+ months of related work experience
High School Diploma / GED
Microsoft Office proficient (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Solid mathematical skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills :
Associate's and / or Bachelor's Degree
Experience with Procurement Planning, Buying and / or Operations
Experience in Supply Chain Management
Expertise in SAP purchasing modules
Expertise in SAP purchasing modules
Booking freight shipments or general knowledge of LTL shipments
