Overview

Instructor, Mechanical Design and Fabrication. The Mechanical Design and Fabrication Instructor position is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty role with an anticipated start date of January 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in Mechanical Design and Fabrication as assigned and support the college mission through effective teaching and advising of diverse students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Mechanical Design and Fabrication; prepare course plans and materials; deliver course content; monitor student attendance and progress; participate on departmental and College committees; participate in curriculum development; support activities that foster student retention; participate in textbook selection; assess student learning outcomes; engage in service and professional development activities such as encouraging student participation in SkillsUSA and other appropriate student organizations.
  • Day, evening, and distance learning teaching assignments are possible.
  • Report to the Department Head, Applied Technology and Professional Services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, production and operation management, or related field with at least two years of relevant work experience; OR
  • Associate degree in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, production and operation management, or related field with four years of relevant work experience.
  • Successful results of a criminal background check required.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, production and operation management, or a related field.
  • Salary

  • For a 9-month contract with a bachelor's degree : $39,500.00 - $45,500.00
  • For a 9-month contract with a master's degree : $42,250.00 - $48,250.00
  • For a 9-month contract with a doctoral degree : $47,000.00 - $53,000.00
  • Salary Details

    All degree classification levels add the appropriate dollars (up to $6,000) for years of credited experience to the annual salary figures above to determine entry salary.
