SUMMARY :
This position reports directly to the Ink Department Lead and Department Manager. Function is to reduce press ink toning, and reduce deadhead ink waste. This position is responsible for performing ink toning / adjustments noted from ink techs, and improving formulas to use reclaim ink as first priority. On night shifts color matching and formulation maybe have to be done based on press schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Formulator - Is responsible for preforming all stripe testing and draw-downs of the jobs on the schedule and making sure that the formulation is correct for the ink matcher. The formulator is responsible for checking the schedule throughout the shift to make sure no changes occur and that the ink being made is up to date to what is needed on press.
Color Matcher – Will mix and colors provided by formulator and prep inks for each press.
