Full Time Manager, Op Clinical Research

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Manager, Op Clinical Research to support the MWRI Erie Campus!

This position will work Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm. Travel is expected up to 20% of the time to MWRI main campus in Pittsburgh and Ridgeway Professional Building in Erie. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

MWRI Erie Campus is the first satellite campus of Magee-Womens Research Institute. Our overarching purpose is to improve the health of and economic opportunity in Erie. We are a community sponsored initiative. Since inception in 2019 we have established a research infrastructure on the Magee-Womens Hospital UPMC Hamot campus that enables members of the Erie community to participate in clinical trials advancing women's health. This office accelerates study recruitment for Pittsburgh and Erie investigators, facilitates rural representation in trials and develops women's health scientists through regional collaborations and college student summer research internships.

The OP Clinical Research Manager manages outpatient clinical and administrative operations of an assigned area in collaboration with the Administrative Director.

Responsibilities :

  • Plan and implement a system to motivate staff development, including effective clinical orientation and continuing education, and models of participative governance.
  • Develop, recommend, and administer policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Design a system to support customer satisfaction and guest relations to include patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Develop and manage a system to ensure appropriate clinical research staffing.
  • Assist principal investigators in assigned areas with manuscript and grant preparation.
  • Oversee maintenance of research medical records.
  • Facilitate CQI / QA&I programs in assigned areas.
  • Enforce standards of regulatory and accreditation agencies.

Bachelor's degree in nursing required.

4 years of progressively responsible clinical and supervisory nursing experience.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
