Description :

Purpose : Collaborate with client and family to identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil. Counselors seek to; improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; promote behavior change; and provide accurate documentation of efforts.

Requirements :

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Must be one of the following : licensed psychologist, licensed psychologist extender, licensed MSW, licensed LCSW, licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed Professional Counselor, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • At least 5 years experience with direct client care and diagnosing (experience can include internship years).
  • Clinical Expertise : Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses such as Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, treatment modalities such as CBTp and MI, and recovery-oriented approaches.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Organizational Skills : Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records. Must be able to multi-task and use time management effectively.
  • Crisis Management Skills : Ability to assess and respond to crisis situations effectively.
  • Knowledge of Community Resources : Familiarity with local mental health services, social services, and other community resources.
  • Cultural Competence : Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Licensure / Certification : Priority will be given to those who have their full clinical license such as an LCSW or LCPC. This position is open to LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, and other licensed therapists in the state of Idaho. Therapists with experience working on an inpatient psychiatric unit or with experience with ACT are encouraged to apply.
  • Be able to pass an enhanced background check

Key Responsibilities :

  • Direct Client Care : Conducts assessments, develops and implements treatment plans, provides individual, group, and family therapy, and offers crisis intervention.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration : Works closely with other ACT team members (psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, etc.) to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach.
  • Community-Based Services : Delivers services in the client's home, community, or other settings, rather than solely in an office or clinic.
  • Advocacy and Support : Advocates for clients' needs, connects them with resources, and helps them navigate social services and systems.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping : Maintains accurate and timely records of client progress, treatment plans, and other required documentation.
  • Crisis Intervention : Responds to client crises and provides support and intervention to prevent hospitalization or other negative outcomes.
  • Education and Consultation : Provides education to clients, families, and community partners about mental illness and treatment.
