About the Role
First Neighbor Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Secondary Market Specialist to join our Mortgage Department. This role is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of our secondary market program, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of mortgage loans to FHLMC (Freddie Mac), and supporting compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies. This position will require initial training held in Greenup, IL. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all operational functions of the secondary market program.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of mortgage loans sold to FHLMC.
- Complete and review all FHLMC reports, remittances, and payments.
- Oversee post-closing reviews and monitor servicing fee collections.
- Partner with Loan Officers and the Mortgage Department to resolve issues related to selling or servicing loans.
- Review files prior to closing to confirm FHLMC underwriting standards are met.
- Verify payment processing for accurate reporting to FHLMC.
- Assist with other Mortgage Department tasks as needed.
- Promote bank services and products, make referrals, and participate in community events.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.At least one year of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and related banking platforms.Ability to adapt quickly between tasks and maintain accuracy in financial transactions.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to any First Neighbor location as needed.What We're Looking For
