HPD is entrusted with fulfilling these objectives through the goals and strategies of "Housing Our Neighbors : A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness," Mayor Adams' comprehensive housing framework. To support this important work, the administration has committed $5 billion in new capital funding, bringing the 10-year planned investment in housing to $22 billion the largest in the city's history. This investment, coupled with a commitment to reduce administrative and regulatory barriers, is a multi-pronged strategy to tackle New York City's complex housing crisis, by addressing homelessness and housing instability, promoting economic stability and mobility, increasing homeownership opportunities, improving health and safety, and increasing opportunities for equitable growth.
Your Team : The Office of Development leads the implementation of the Mayor's Housing Plan to create or preserve 300,000 units of affordable housing by 2026. This is performed in close collaboration with HPD colleagues, other City and state agencies, and the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC). The Office of Development is composed of nine divisions : - Executive Office Operations and Policy - Division of Compliance and Enforcement - Division of Housing Incentives - Division of Building & Land Development Services - Division of New Construction Finance - Division of Homeownership Opportunities & Preservation - Division of Preservation Finance - Division of Special Needs Housing - Division of Portfolio Management and Conversion
Your Impact : As Project Manager for Inclusionary Housing Programs, Universal Affordability Program (UAP), you will help address the city's affordable housing crisis by implementing the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity, much of which will be in mixed-income developments promoting economic integration and access to neighborhoods with job opportunities and transit.
Your Role : Your role will be to manage a portfolio of affordable housing projects from pre-development through completion of construction, under the direction of the unit's Director and Senior Project Managers. Your primary role as Project Manager is to facilitate the development of affordable housing that is financially feasible and compliant with the New York City Zoning Resolution. To do so, you will interact with a variety of public and private partners on complex multi-family real estate transactions in the UAP, Voluntary IH, Mandatory IH, and Cure programs. All Project Managers in the IH Unit are expected to perform similar duties and responsibilities to ensure a flexible and multi-disciplined team. In closing on transactions, Project Managers collaborate with other NYC agencies, including the Department of City Planning, as well as with state agencies, for- and non-profit housing and community developers, Community Boards, local organizations, and public officials.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and / or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
