Responsibilities Work setting is a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit within a hospital environment Patient population includes general medical, surgical (GI, urology, hysterectomies, mastectomies), oncology, ortho / neurovascular, and cardio / pulmonary cases Staffing ratio is typically 1 : 5-6 at night; may flex up to 8 patients with LPN support Night shifts available, typically 4x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30) Required to float to other Med / Surg units as needed, generally about once weekly Required to work every other weekend Variety of staff mix including RNs, LPNs, and techs Care for a range of medical and surgical patients with GI, urological, gynecological, and oncology diagnoses RN will have LPN support when assigned higher patient ratios Must be comfortable collaborating with a team of RNs, LPNs, and techs Holiday requests generally not permitted; specific dates can be discussed with management Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions Travelers are first to float among staff Return staff eligible after 6 months Non-billable modules to be completed during orientation and annually Requirements Active Michigan RN license or eligibility with documented licensure ETA BLS certification (AHA); pending accepted if willing to obtain Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred Available for the entire week of orientation References required for consideration Proof of flu vaccination or approved exemption required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614474.
