Sterile Pharmacy Technician

Department : Operations

Shifts Available :

1st Shift : Monday-Friday, 6 : 00 AM-2 : 30 PM

2nd Shift : Monday-Thursday, 1 : 00 PM-11 : 30 PM (4x10 schedule)

Job Summary

The Sterile Pharmacy Technician is responsible for compounding, preparing, and producing Compounded Sterile Products (CSPs) in compliance with company procedures, cGMP, and USP

regulations. This role involves working in a sterile cleanroom environment and performing aseptic manipulations under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

If you are not IV certified but interested in working in a cleanroom environment, Medix will help you get IV certified through a 2-weekend course commitment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform aseptic manipulations in ISO 5 laminar hoods.

Compound sterile preparations accurately and in accordance with batch records and SOPs.

Operate compounding equipment and adhere to sterile techniques, including :

Injecting active ingredients into IV bags

Filling syringes

Pooling vials using a repeater pump

Maintain cleanroom and equipment per company and regulatory standards.

Accurately label, package, and document compounded products following good documentation practices.

Cooperate with pharmacists and team members to meet production goals.

Follow safety protocols, gowning requirements, and quality procedures consistently.

Complete assigned training, competencies, and annual validations.

Education, Licenses & Certifications

Active Texas State Pharmacy Technician License (TSBP) in good standing.

IV Sterile Products Certification preferred - training provided through Medix's sponsored 2-weekend certification program after starting employment.

1+ year of pharmacy technician experience preferred (hospital or compounding environment ideal).

Knowledge of cGMP and USP standards strongly preferred.

Ability to work full shifts in sterile garb ("bunny suit") and goggles.

Willingness to work weekends or overtime as needed.
