Location : This role is based in the Boulder, CO office and is a hybrid role open to candidates in any Informa office location.
The Director of Content will drive content strategy and operations across Data Center World events and AFCOM, our premier professional association serving individuals and organizations in the data center industry since 1980. This is a leadership role for a content strategist with technology sector expertise to capitalize on the data center industry’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Conference Program Development and Management
Create comprehensive agendas for Data Center World and Data Center World POWER conferences
Develop themes, tracks, and core topics addressing industry challenges including power sourcing, sustainability, and AI-driven infrastructureRecruit and manage speakersManage conference advisory boards to provide insights and support for organizational initiativesSupport all program elements during eventsGlobal ExpansionPartner with the Event Director and leadership team to expand Data Center World’s international footprint
Identify emerging markets and opportunities for growthAFCOM LeadershipDrive membership growth and chapter expansion
Implement organizational efficienciesProduce engaging content that advances the careers of data center and IT infrastructure professionalsSupport AFCOM’s mission of serving professionals who design, build, operate, and manage data centersManage team including contractorsIndustry and End-User RelationshipsCollaborate with Event Director to cultivate partnerships with industry groups and end-user audiences to deepen engagement and ensure alignment with needs
Represent the brand at industry eventsBuild relationships with key technology providers and solution partnersResearch and Thought LeadershipCoordinate and oversee development of the annual State of the Data Center research
Identify emerging trends and disruptive technologies affecting the industryCross-Functional CollaborationSupport the sales team with strategic account acquisition
Advise marketing on event positioning within the full professional ecosystemDevelop content strategies for audience development and lead generation using data-driven approachesCollaborate with a strategic PR agency to design and execute earned media strategiesWork with digital teams to optimize content delivery across channelsQualifications
Deep knowledge of the data center industry (or technology sector) with understanding of trends, players, and growth sectorsStrong stakeholder management experienceProven experience developing conference / event content both strategically and operationallyStrong project management skills and ability to meet deadlinesExperience creating diverse content formats (articles, blogs, video interviews, research reports)Commercially-minded leader with experience supporting revenue-driving activitiesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsPublic speaking confidence and ability to be a key face of the brandEffective leadership to build an inclusive team cultureEstablished industry connections to facilitate speaker recruitment and partnershipsAdditional Information
The pay range for this position is $120,000.00 - 140,000.00, depending on experience.
This role will expire on Oct 31st 2025
