Overview

The Commissioning Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, Vendors, other commissioning team members, and AHJs through the start-up process. Commissioning activities include inspections, performance testing, troubleshooting, negotiating final compliance with AHJs to achieve placed-in-service status, and writing the commissioning reports.

The engineer must be able to work independently with little to no instruction. The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in power systems, start-up activities, compliance, and testing. They can manage multiple projects at a time in different progress stages. They will also understand commissioning and start-up of plants is time critical and manage their time and resources accordingly.

The candidate will need to travel as required to project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Researching the commissioning needs for each project.
• Manage all aspects of Commissioning, and instruct others on necessary tasks.
• Establishing and communicating commissioning steps to the project team to develop schedules.
• Working at sites to perform inspections and system performance testing.
• Communicating and leading efforts to solve problems with equipment that may occur during start-up.
• Completing the commissioning reports to submit to 3rd Parties, AHJs, and internal records.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $91,500 and $109,650 / Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
