Job Description Summary : Supervises and coordinates all day-to-day activities relating to nursing care throughout the hospital. Demonstrates ability in leadership and basic management / supervisory skills. Superior assessment and judgment skills essential. Excellent clinical skills required with critical care experience preferred.

Scheduled Work Hours / Shift : 12-hr shifts, some weekends

Excellent clinical skills required with critical care experience preferred.

Minimum Training and Education : A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience which is shown to be progressively responsible. Demonstrated ability in leadership and basic management / supervisory skills. Superior assessment and judgment skills essential. Excellent clinical skills required with critical care experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. MSN with minimum of 6 months supervisory experience or BSN / Diploma with 2 years nursing experience and minimum of 6 months supervisory experience, or ADN with 2 years nursing experience with 1-year supervisory experience required. Supervisory experience may be obtained through coursework in supervision / management or actual work experience.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Current SC RN license in good standing required. BLS & ACLS certification required.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities : Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined / cramped spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, performing pinching operations, performing gross motor activities, performing firm grasping, performing fine manipulation, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting / lowering objects 50 lbs. from / to floor from / to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20 / 40 vision, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand or at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, determining distance / relationship between objects; depth perception, good peripheral vision capabilities, maintaining hearing acuity, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions. (Selected Positions) Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function, Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
