Description :

The Outpatient Cellular Therapy Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in BMT for a 13-week assignment.

The unit operates from Monday to Friday, 08 : 00 - 16 : 30, and is closed on nights, weekends, and hospital-recognized holidays.

This role includes administering treatments such as Car T-cell therapy, autologous transplants, Bi-specific administration, and other related oncology treatments.

Responsibilities include electrolyte replacement, blood product repletion, IV fluid administration, lab draws, central line care, and patient and family education.

The nurse will be part of a team comprising three nurses, one patient care technician, two management members, and a unit-specific nurse practitioner.

Candidates must be prepared to float within the scope to meet facility needs, potentially to other outpatient oncology clinics with similar patient populations.

Average daily patient volume is expected to increase from 2-3 to up to 8 patients by July 2025.

All candidates must have a current license or license pending in the applicable state.

Local candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify.

The facility is a Magnet and Teaching hospital with a Level I Trauma Center.

The unit offers a supportive environment with daily patient assessments by an attending doctor and a nurse practitioner present throughout the patient's stay.

The ideal candidate should be skilled in using equipment such as EKG machines, water baths for thawing frozen stem cells, and Baxter IV pumps.

The role involves managing various oncology diagnoses, including multiple myeloma, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, among others.

Proficiency in CRS evaluation and treatment, including Tocilizumab administration, is required.

The position requires effective management of side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, and sepsis.
