Material Handler

Location : Kaukauna, WI

Pay : $18 - $20 per hour

Shifts Available :

  • 1st Shift : Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 00 PM
  • 2nd Shift : Monday through Thursday, 2 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM

Overview :

AtWork Appleton is hiring Material Handlers to support production by moving and preparing materials for painting and blasting. This general labor position involves safely handling large metal parts, prepping surfaces, staging products, and using industrial equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and tuggers. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with openings on both 1st and 2nd shifts. All candidates will be sourced and submitted to our client by AtWork Appleton.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Move heavy steel and metal parts (5,000 - 20,000 pounds) using overhead cranes, forklifts, and tuggers
  • Prep materials for painting and blasting, including masking, unmasking, stenciling, and cleaning
  • Sand, prime, and finish metal surfaces as needed
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials from trailers to shop staging areas
  • Track time accurately for assigned work orders
  • Maintain and inspect material handling equipment
  • Attend daily meetings and communicate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Follow safety protocols and wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Adjust priorities based on production needs and customer deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Qualifications :

  • Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks including lifting heavy equipment and materials (up to 75 pounds), climbing ladders, bending, and standing for the length of the shift
  • Ability to read safety documents, basic blueprints, and work instructions
  • Reliable and willing to stay late as needed
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus
  • Team-oriented and adaptable to changing workloads
  • Valid drivers license preferred
