Base pay range
$100,000.00 / yr - $227,500.00 / yr
Responsibilities
- Assess, identify, and collect IT infrastructure requirements (pathways, spaces, cable, power, cooling, etc.) to support existing and new facilities.
- Review design drawings and specifications submitted by outside design professionals and provide comments.
- Prepare floor plans, rack elevations, installation specifications, statement of work, budgetary cost estimates, schedules, and other design documents.
- Present and review designs with your customers.
- Work with Contracts, Plant Facilities, and onsite installation partners to implement your designs.
- Conduct pre-construction design reviews, quality control checks, and post-construction code compliance inspections.
- Coordinate the construction and implementation of telecommunications and technology systems for unclassified and classified network environments.
- Coordinate site surveys, schedules, security escorts, and inspections with customers and operation partners.
- Collaborate with internal design team to identify projects to improve infrastructure and services.
- Periodically coordinate and assist internal IT teams and staff with day-to-day operations as assigned or needed to complete projects you lead.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil / Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering, or other IT-related field or equivalent work experience.BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).5+ years' experience designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining high-speed network cabling systems and IT facilities.Knowledge of telecommunications / electrical / fire codes and industry standards (ANSI / EIA / TIA, CNSSI, IEEE, NEC / NFPA, OSHA, and BICSI).Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Proficient with AutoCAD, Visio, Revit, or GIS.Ability to identify and convey Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Physical Security requirements to Plant Facilities and external design consultants.Ability to provide sample documentation of a past design project that you personally led during the interview.Motivated self-starter with good organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to coordinate multiple projects and set priorities to meet schedules.Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills; able to work with all levels of staff using tact and diplomacy.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and in team environments; willingness to work occasional weekends or after hours as needed.Capable of lifting 50-75 lbs; valid driver's license with a good driving record; ability to travel to remote field offices.Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.Preferred / Additional Qualifications
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) standards for IT infrastructure in Open Storage Areas (formerly Closed Areas), SCIFs, and Protected Distribution Systems (PDS).RF experience with passive physical infrastructures required to transport RF signals over coaxial and fiber optic cables.Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit certification.About Us

The referenced pay range is based on APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education / training and skill level. For salaried employees working less than 40 hours per week, pay will be prorated. APL may offer bonuses or other compensation per internal policy. Additional compensation may be provided as a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
