Job Description :

1. Oversees accounting operations, which include financial accounting, accounts payable, and payroll.

2. Recruit and hire accounting staff and conduct performance evaluations.

3. Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.

4. Oversees the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.

5. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and by company policy.

6. Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements and the corporate annual report.

7. Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

8. Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information for the annual audit.

9. Review budget reports and assist other departments in preparing annual budgets.

10. Coordinates the preparation of the corporate tax return.

11. Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

12. Compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

13. Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.

14. Serves as a responsible leader, through the direction and guidance of the team, to ensure all safety requirements for all jobs are upheld, adhering to all aspects of our Health, Safety, and Environmental Program both for self-protection and the protection of co-workers, sub-contractors, the public, and the client by supporting all Company safety efforts.

15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description :

1. Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University, five years of related experience in the Construction Industry, or the equivalent combination of training and experience that indicates the ability to do the job.

2. Certified Public Accountant designation is highly preferred.

3. High school diploma or equivalent.

4. Excellent management and supervisory skills.

5. Mastery of accounting and tax preparation software.

6. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

7. Proficient with computers and familiar with Microsoft Software Suite.

8. Demonstrates strong conflict resolution and negotiating skills.

9. Strong organizational skills.

10. Must be able to multi-task, have strong attention to detail, and have excellent time management skills to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

11. Able to identify a need, remove barriers, and know how to make things happen.

12. Values diversity of ideas, opinions, and people. Has good common sense and applied logic.

13. Must possess or be able to obtain an appropriate state driver's license before employment, along with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
