As an Admissions Specialist with the Wellspring Skilled Nursing team, you’ll be part of a team of nurses and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families within the state of Michigan. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community to provide services to seniors. In this position, you will bring a nursing degree from an accredited college or university as an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - preferred - OR have a current Medical Assistant (MA) certification within the state of Michigan. Alternatively, you may also have an associates degree in business or marketing with specific skilled nursing admissions experience. You'll bring a minimum of 2 years experience in skilled nursing or long-term care setting. You must be able to work within a fast paced environment, stay organized, bring an attitude that is committed to quality and be willing / flexible to fill in for vacations and leaves.
As a Centralized Admissions Specialist : you will :
- Responsible for the admissions for multiple campus with the assistance of AI software
- Daily proactive communication with campus on admissions, discharges and bed availability.
- Responsible for ensuring monthly and annual census goals are met / exceeded, including payer mix
- Review and respond timely to referral inquiry, with the authority to accept
- Reviews conversion ratios and referral source trends
- Interacts with hospital discharge planners
- Determine organizations clinical and financial ability to meet the needs of potential patients / residents including high cost medications, treatment and equipment needs
- Maintain up to date knowledge as it relates to current regulations governing all payers
- Maintain accurate referral information in appropriate database
- Complete insurance verification and per-certifications
- Obtain necessary documents from hospital as requested by campus
- Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other insurances for short- and long-term care services. Consult with campus teams as needed.
- Communicates with Administrators on barriers to admitting residents and recommends solutions to such obstacles and barriers
- Communicate with campus admissions teams on pending admissions
- Cross trained in centralized MDS process
- Participate in on call admissions rotation
