Job Overview
Responsible for all robots in the body shop. Monitors the factory's performance, manages & allocates manpower, strengthens & develops the organization's production & planning structure. Develops, implements, and improves complex manufacturing production processes and methods.
Responsibilities
- Support training of maintenance and production employees.
- Update technology packages and Kuka software system updates.
- Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
- Manage continuous improvement processes to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Investigate problems, analyze root causes, and derive resolutions using 8D Problem Solving Process.
- Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives.
- Assure product and process quality by designing complex testing methods and establishing standards.
- Participate in budget preparation, monitor expenses, and profitability.
- Write spec books; request and evaluate supplier quotations.
- Design, document, and implement medium to large-scale manufacturing processes.
- Utilize system analysis of production methods, procedures, and process automations for growth improvements.
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Evaluate current production activities and drive improvements.
- Periodically ensure that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
- Contribute to product and process quality design testing methods.
- Develop planning standards, methods, and procedures.
- Plan workplaces considering ergonomics.
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
- Provide guidance to team members; mentor and develop less senior manufacturing engineers.
- May act as deputy for Production Manager.
- Propose and manage medium-scale projects from beginning to end; may scope and manage large capital investment projects (>
$5M).
Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree required.Over 5 years of relevant experience required, strongly preferring Body in White (including experience such as : Kuka KRC robotic, booth or work cell programming, Siemens S7 PLC).Hands-on experience in off-line simulations.Knowledge of joining technologies such as MIG / MAG, spot, laser welding, and gluing.Experience in dimensional accuracy desired.3D-CAD experience such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NX.Hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.Hands-on experience with process devices such as motor drives, sensors, AC / DC converters, encoders, lifts, conveyors.Knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and process technology.Ability to present complex technical information related to achieving department goals.Able to influence team members at all levels of the organization.Proven written and verbal communication at all levels with good negotiation skills.Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.Proven design & implementation of Continuous Improvement themes with savings.Knowledge of value stream mapping to reduce waste and improve output in a production environment desired.Experience in process layout and optimization incorporating asset utilization is a plus.Background in manpower distribution based on production and efficiency targets.Ability to troubleshoot, instruct repair techniques, & assist if needed for root cause analysis in stressful situations.Ability to read & create blueprints and schematics.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
