Essential Responsibilities :
- Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
- Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging as necessary, while offering reassurance, clear instructions, and education to patients.
- Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits, including accurate and up-to-date medical record documentation.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs such as weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and collecting medical history and chief complaints.
- Observe and report abnormal patient signs to physicians, documenting findings thoroughly.
- Assist physicians with testing, treatments, minor surgeries, and physical exams, including applying splints and dressings.
- Manage sample medications and logs, arrange necessary testing or admissions, and obtain appropriate referrals and consents for procedures or immunizations.
- Distribute educational materials and ensure patient understanding of treatment plans and medication usage.
- Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed.
- Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, ensuring cleanliness, and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities.
Education and Experience Required :
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.This position offers day shifts within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States.
