PCU RN Job Details
Location : Great Falls, Montana (59405) – Montana nursing jobs
Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital
Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse
Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (August 28, 2025 – November 27, 2025)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Montana RN license (Registered Nurse)
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required or obtained within 6 months of hire)
At least 1 year of recent PCU or acute care nursing experience
Skilled in operating advanced medical equipment (A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, ventilatory support)
Proficient in cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
Experience with IV medication management (Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Dopamine)
Pediatric and post heart catheterization experience preferred
EPNC, TNCC certifications preferred
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in the PCU
Provide comprehensive physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support
Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment, including central lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
Serve as a clinical leader and preceptor for nursing staff
Coordinate care with RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Housekeeping, and Dietary staff
Manage patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning
Support the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit as needed
