About The Position

License : Registered Nurse license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral experience.
• Experienced travelers are accepted if they meet the criteria.
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles away from the facility.

Description :

The department has 2 Cath labs and 2 Hybrid peripheral / OR.

The patient population includes those with coronary artery disease, STEMI, and cardiogenic shock.

Patients also present with complex total occlusions and valvular disease.

The unit handles diagnostic Cath procedures, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, and peripheral stenosis.

Treatment involves thrombosis management, Impella insertion, and LVAD insertions.

The patient ratio is 1 RN to 1 patient.

Required critical skills include assessment of critically ill patients.

Travelers will not float to other departments.

Key devices utilized include IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and Penumbra.

Critical assessment skills, vasoactive and sedation drug administration, and sterile technique are essential for RNs.

Cath Lab Techs need a minimum of 2 years in coronary, complex PCI, and peripheral experience.

Skills required for Techs include arrhythmia recognition and treatment along with table movement capabilities.

There is a weekend rotation requirement where staff will be on call 1-2 days per week and every fourth weekend.

Holiday expectations may require working one holiday per assignment.

Time-off requests must be approved by the manager.

Charting is conducted in EPIC, with familiarity in Epic Cupid preferred.

Scrub colors are procedural and provided.
