Job Overview :

A Los Angeles-based law firm is seeking a Transactional Tax Associate to join its growing tax team. This position offers a dynamic environment for attorneys with 1 year of experience in transactional tax matters who are looking to advance their practice in a fast-paced, collaborative setting focused on complex financial transactions.

Duties :

Provide tax-focused legal support on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions

Collaborate with corporate, finance, and real estate teams on deal structuring

Analyze federal, state, and international tax implications related to business operations and reorganizations

Draft and review tax provisions in transaction documentation

Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on tax-related matters

Advise clients on evolving regulatory tax developments impacting business strategy

Requirements :

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience handling transactional tax matters at a law firm or equivalent environment

Familiarity with partnership, corporate, and international tax issues

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and drafting abilities

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively on complex matters

Education :

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications :

Admission to the State Bar of California or eligibility to practice under applicable rules

Skills :

Proficiency in legal research tools and drafting tax-related documents

Ability to interpret and apply tax codes, regulations, and case law

Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to issue-spotting and resolution
