Essential Job Functions :
Line Cook :
- Sets up and breaks down station as per production sheet
- Prepares, and cooks items to specification as ordered by the customer.
- Reheats all soups, sauces, and other items dictated by the daily menus rotations
- Ensures excellent presentation of all prepared foods.
- Cooks the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously
- Restocks station, and maintains prep for station and / or salad bar
- Meets or exceeds assigned prep lists on a daily basis
- Occasional Buffet Cook and Production Cook responsibilities as assigned
All Cooks, Including Line Cook :
Maintains a high degree of sanitation in work stationKeeps food area free of debris and trash at all timesReports to work on timeCommunicates with Sous Chef when there are product shortagesBreaks down and stores daily food and supply deliveriesAssists in monitoring products in the freezer, walk-ins, and storerooms to ensure freshness and availabilityEnsures proper FIFO procedures are followed when storing daily deliveriesMonitors food items, checks food temperatures, and changes food items when necessaryAssists in quality control of prepared food itemsEnsures thorough communication between shiftsRemains up to date on all Departmental Policies and ProceduresPrepares and executes recipes and daily production sheets per standardized recipe cards or supervisor guidelinesComplies with all departmental rules, side work assignments, and departmental proceduresEnsures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous mannerGives excellent internal and / or external guest service and proactively seeks ways to improve servicePerforms all other duties as assignedJob Requirements : Line Cook :
Must possess basic knife skillsAll Cooks, Including Line Cook :
Illinois Food Handler Certification requiredMust possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with guests and team membersMust possess the ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgencyMust possess a cooperative, helpful and friendly nature, and present a neat, clean, well-groomed appearanceAbility to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays. Understands that schedules may change.Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and kneelingFinishes job duties in a timely fashion according to department time standardsAbility to work within the following conditions : wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noiseThe Team Member must frequently lift and or move up to 25 poundsPerks that Work!
