job_description.job_card.job_descriptionResponsible for basic nursing duties including execution of physician orders, operation of pill call, operation of sick call, assisting physician in examinations and treatments, and performing technical / clinical procedures within scope of license. Assist in professional management of facility medical department. Apply appropriate nursing skills in care and treatment of inmates / residents. Attend sick call with physician to see inmates / residents; prepare list of inmates / residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment. Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by policies and procedures. Control medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment and inventory as required by established procedures. Perform emergency procedures as needed. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area using appropriate sanitation methods. Document and report activities in accordance with established policies and procedures including medical file documentation. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in New Mexico.
