Founded 40+ years ago, we are a multi-disciplinary construction company in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area. Our team is growing and we are looking to we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to support our financial management team.

Position Overview

The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and managing financial reporting processes within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and provide insights on financial performance to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the overall accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies and procedures.
• Support the Controller in preparing accurate financial statements and reports.
• Assist in the annual budget preparation and forecast updates.
• Conduct job costing and revenue recognition analyses to ensure project profitability.
• Manage work in progress (WIP) reporting and related accounting activities.
• Perform audits and ensure all financial records are accurate and compliant.
• Collaborate with project managers to track project costs and provide financial insights.
• Utilize ERP systems like Vista and Trimble to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
• Assist in payroll processing and compliance with labor regulations.
