Our Vail Valley Veterinary practice is a full-service animal hospital and mobile unit with on-call emergency care and preventative veterinary care for both small and large animals. Were equipped with the latest state of the art equipment to provide only the most optimal veterinary care, including digital radiography for small animals and horses, orthopedic specialty surgeries, cancer surgeries, complex wound care and intensive care hospitalization. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital. Position Skills :

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
• Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
• Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and / or note any changes of patients condition to DVM
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
• Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
• High quality client communication on patient updates and questions
