Field Access Manager (Nephrology) - Miami, Tampa, Orlando, FL

Ardelyx is seeking a Field Access Manager (Nephrology) to support patient access for our nephrology portfolio across a multi-state geography. This is a customer-facing role that builds reimbursement confidence, educates nephrology providers and office staff on payer landscape, access services, and reimbursement solutions for Ardelyx products.

Description

The Field Access Manager (Nephrology) demonstrates account management skills, payer knowledge, reimbursement expertise, and data analytics insights to facilitate timely access to Ardelyx's products. The incumbent will execute a regional strategic plan in partnership with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., sales, market access, and other matrix field partners).

The Field Access Manager will ensure understanding of the patient access process and patient support programs. They will work on patient-level access issue resolution and require knowledge and experience with patient health information (PHI). This role supports Ardelyx's mission to advance patient care with novel therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Establish reimbursement confidence among HCPs and office staff by understanding and articulating key payer and access dynamics required to access our products
  • Collaborate with HCP offices to support the patient journey, providing education during the access process (reimbursement, coding & payment), specialty pharmacy and distribution processes, provider support services, and patient support resources (copay assistance, patient assistance programs)
  • Review patient-specific information when providers request assistance resolving coverage challenges
  • Establish collaborative relationships with Patient Service Program Partners, Field Sales, and Healthcare Providers to support patient access
  • Identify and address patient and HCP access barriers; implement updates based on solutions
  • Review data from multiple resources to understand access barriers and work with HCPs on resolution
  • Conduct business reviews with offices to identify insights and opportunities for the territory
  • Partner with HUB and specialty pharmacy partners to remove patient access barriers
  • Grow knowledge of hub and specialty distribution channels and current policies to improve patient support
  • Monitor patient start trends and collaborate with Field Sales and Patient Services to address challenges; maintain knowledge of payer and prescriber market dynamics
  • Execute business in accordance with ethical, legal, and compliance standards and complete required training

Qualifications

  • B.A. / B.S. with 5+ years in reimbursement / access or equivalent; understanding of specialty pharmacy networks and distribution
  • Strong knowledge of product distribution (retail and specialty pharmacy), payer policy and health insurance (Medicare Part D, commercial, Medicaid); expertise in eligibility, benefit verification, prior authorization, reimbursement, denials appeals, financial assistance, co-pay support, and patient programs
  • Knowledge of HCP office processes for patient flow and clinic operations; Nephrology product / provider experience preferred
  • Excellent customer relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills with ability to influence cross-functionally
  • Ability to master product information and clearly communicate access details to customers
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and barriers, and translate into actionable steps
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to pharmaceutical sales / marketing to physicians and healthcare organizations
  • Work Environment

  • Reports to an Associate Director, Field Access Management
  • Travel required across large multistate geography; at least 50% travel expected vary by territory
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Compensation and Benefits

    The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $115,000-$180,000. Actual base pay is determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility.
