Employment Type Full time Shift 12 Hour Night Shift Description At Saint Mary’s Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. Minimum Qualifications Education : Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred. Licensure : Current and valid Connecticut RN license. Experience : Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting. Certifications : BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Work Schedule Full-time 36 hours, Nights 12-hour shifts- 7p to 7 : 30a Schedule Weekend & Holidays are required. Key Responsibilities Patient Monitoring : Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress. Medication Administration : Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation. Patient & Family Education : Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies. Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
